I’m making cozies and coasters for coffee cups. Sounds a little mundane right? Well, I like to put my own twist on what a cozy should be.

Before, you had your normal bland cozy - something with a cute logo, or textured design. Now with my blood, sweat, and tears (“blood, sweat, and tears” not included in the final product) I have invented my own style of cozy.

And since I’m selling physical items in (mainly) person, I thought I could put this website to good use by having digital media available for everyone else that can’t get ahold of my work. Patterns for all of my cozies are available in my Store.

Once everyone I know, and their grandma, buys my cozies here in Bloomington, I’ll be able to get a store front and begin the dream.

Producing more and better crochet tutorials. Working with other local businesses, artists, and groups to get quality supplies from one place. Having actual specialized teachers to come in and do IRL lessons. Sick of waiting for Etsy orders, but you don’t have the equipment to make what you need yourself? I got you. Are you hesitant to learn a new hobby, or just want to meet new people doing the same thing as you? We’ll have a group for that. Really want to support local artisans but don’t know where to look? I’ll have their number. If someone thinks up some crazy and amazing idea that we are lacking in the fiber community here in Bloomington, I want to help them build on that.

Crochet is my second passion. My first is making it easier for fiber artists and hobbyists to get the materials, tools and resources they need from just one place. No general craft stores, no online guessing, just what you need, when you need it.

My dream? The absolute perfect, picturesque fantasy? To have everything I need for my next project in one spot just across town. I don’t know about you all, but I’m so fed up with jumping through hoops trying to get what I need, only to have my time, money, and sanity wasted.

How many of you have had this amazing idea to make something, and went out the next day to get supplies? Was the closest store a craft’s store? Did they only have a few things on your check list? Were you hesitant to order the rest of the supplies online? Did you eventually buy everything else online and have to return a few things because they weren’t what you thought they’d be?

I have been doing this exact thing for 3 years now. I’m so fed up with how much of a hassle it is to get what I need, that I’m just taking it upon myself to fix the issue. I know for a fact that I’m not alone in this massive college town and there are so many people that struggle just as much as I do with getting materials and supplies. This town is known for it’s art, but doesn’t have a good supplier for a major art facet. I’m beyond ready to take the leap and make that change.
